Identify what the mouse is doing
If aiming feels too fast or too slow while the cursor stays captured, inspect sensitivity. If the pointer leaves the game or reaches another monitor while you try to turn, investigate focus or capture instead. These symptoms can feel similar during play but need different checks.
First return from any open menu and click the game area. Note whether control returns, and whether it is lost again after a repeatable action. This is a general focus check, not a confirmed repair for a particular Clutcher bug.
What a player actually reported
In the September 2026 launch discussion, a player described a mouse problem involving Brave and a dual-monitor setup. A hard refresh appeared to help in one comment. A later follow-up suggested that the issue might have returned.
That evidence supports trying a reload as a reversible check; it does not establish that hard refresh permanently fixes the issue, that all Brave users are affected or that multiple monitors are the confirmed cause. The outcome remains uncertain.
Try a short, controlled sequence
- Return to the game area and click to restore focus.
- Reload the page, then repeat the action that lost control.
- If ordinary reload changes nothing, try your browser’s hard-refresh action.
- Compare the Windowed Mode setting with your existing setup.
- If another browser is available, compare behavior at the official game URL.
- Record which change helped and whether the issue returns.
If input works but feels wrong
Settings includes Mouse Sensitivity, Zoom (Aim) Sensitivity Multiplier and Touchpad Sensitivity (Boost). The observed values 4.50 and 1.00 are a reference from one session, not a recommended fix. Adjust one input option and repeat a familiar turning or aiming action.
Touchpad boost is a specific input option. Do not toggle it simply because the mouse escaped to another screen; first establish whether the problem is capture or how movement is scaled. Likewise, a low frame rate can make aiming feel inconsistent without being a sensitivity problem.
Collect a reproducible report
Record your browser version, operating system, whether you use more than one display and whether windowed mode changes the result. Include the shortest sequence that causes the escape and whether a refresh helps only temporarily.
Avoid clearing all browser or game data as an early experiment. We have not verified how the current build stores settings or progression. If you test another browser, treat it as a comparison, not a promise that your existing session state will follow you.
