How to play Clutcher io: your first match

Open the official game and prepare

Go to clutcher.io in your browser. The game runs in the browser without a separate game download. The menu we checked identifies the build as v0.21 Early Access. Open Settings before you start so you can check sensitivity, graphics, key bindings and bot options.

Choose Bomb Defuse or Team Deathmatch from the play menu, then choose Oasis or Dune and select Play. Ranked was marked Coming soon when we checked, and the Private and Join controls were disabled. Do not plan a ranked session or a private lobby around those visible buttons.

Learn five actions first

The most useful starting keys are movement, interaction, reloading and buying. Keep the controls guide nearby if your keyboard layout differs, and check the live Key Bindings panel if you have changed a binding.

• Move with W, A, S and D; jump with Space.
• Aim or scope with the right mouse button.
• Reload with R and switch to your last weapon with Q.
• Hold E for a valid plant or defuse interaction.
• Press B while buying is allowed to open the buy menu.

Understand the first Bomb Defuse round

The official help describes a match of up to 15 rounds: the first team to win 8 wins. A round lasts 1:55 and opens with a five-second preparation period. You start with $1,000, and buying is available during the first 44 seconds while you are in your team’s spawn area.

On the attacking side, bring the bomb to A or B, stand still in the site and hold E for 3.2 seconds. After planting, defend it for the 40-second countdown. On the defending side, prevent the plant or hold E close to the planted bomb to defuse. That takes 10 seconds, or 5 with a defuse kit.

Use the first match to learn

Our suggested first-session goal is simple: learn one route, complete one useful interaction and notice why each round ends. Avoid changing maps and sensitivity after every mistake. You will learn more from repeating the same situation with one adjustment.

The Settings menu includes bots, bot count and difficulty. The developer’s September 22 launch discussion said multiplayer would be added later. Treat the live client as the source for what is currently playable, rather than assuming that a player counter or rank label proves human matchmaking.
