Check your current bindings in Settings

These bindings come from the official Key Bindings panel checked on September 28, 2026. The panel is a better reference than a generic browser-FPS control list: some actions share an interaction key, and switching weapon hands has a separate enable toggle.

If a key on this page does not work for you, first compare it with your current Settings panel. A saved or changed binding can differ from the configuration we observed. Also click back into the game after using a menu so keyboard input is directed at gameplay.

Why E or B may appear not to work

Planting is contextual. You must have the bomb, stand still inside a bombsite and hold E for 3.2 seconds. The in-game help also describes selecting the bomb with 5 and holding Mouse 1 as an alternative. Defusing requires looking at the planted bomb from close range and holding E until the interaction finishes.

Buying is also contextual: in Bomb Defuse, press B during the opening 44-second buy window while inside your team’s spawn area. Being able to press the key does not mean buying is available everywhere on the map. Check location and round time before assuming there is a keyboard problem.

A short practice sequence

As a practice suggestion, move out and back, crouch, walk quietly, reload, then switch to your previous weapon. Next practice the bomb interaction in a suitable round. Separating basic input from an objective sequence makes a failed interaction easier to diagnose.

The official help says Mouse 1 changes the teammate you watch while spectating after death. Input can therefore do different things depending on whether you are playing, spectating or using a menu. If your cursor escapes the game entirely, use the mouse troubleshooting guide instead of repeatedly rebinding keys.
